With PTSD, traumatic brain injury, ankle and back injuries, it was almost impossible for Mark to herd and sort cattle and complete the necessary veterinary work.

Holland area farmer, Doug Ver Hoeven, has been farming from a wheelchair for more than 40 years. Doug has a wealth of experience using pre-made items and engineering custom assistive technology tools to help him continue working.

Despite the multiple strokes, Gary has persisted in following the dream and has returned to tending the livestock on the rural estate. Gary runs the Glownia Farm, a pasture-based farm supporting 27 Shetland sheep, 20 Pygora-type goats, and 40 laying hens.

Limited by the loss of his right leg, Bill aimed to reduce or eliminate his dependence on others by exploring assistive technology.
